Reasonable adjustments for charity teams
TryMosaic gives charity employees and volunteers a documented way to raise workplace barriers and record agreed reasonable adjustments.
When requests live in separate places
An employee or volunteer may explain a barrier in a conversation, then repeat it in an email. A manager may agree an action but forget to record what happens next. When the person handling a request changes, what was agreed can get lost.
Charities bring together different kinds of work, from service delivery and fundraising to operations. Adjustments depend on the role and the person. A clear process helps people discuss each request and record what was agreed.
One documented process for people, managers and HR
Employees and volunteers
Employees and volunteers can use the documented process to explain workplace barriers and propose reasonable adjustments. Employees can keep and share their own Workplace Passport, which records agreed adjustments and working preferences.
Managers
Managers can review requests from employees and volunteers, discuss what is reasonable, suggest alternatives where needed, and record decisions and agreed actions. Actions can then be reviewed over time.
HR
People see their own requests and adjustments. Managers see what they need to respond to. Authorised HR staff can access relevant adjustment information and aggregated, anonymised organisational trends based on their role and organisation configuration.
Fits your existing people process
Some charities have a dedicated HR lead; others share people support across roles. TryMosaic focuses on reasonable adjustments rather than general HR administration. If your charity already uses HR software, a conversation can map how the adjustments workflow could fit your current process.
A record that can move with the person
A Workplace Passport records agreed adjustments and working preferences. It gives employees a record they can keep and share as roles or managers change. TryMosaic helps people document and revisit the process; it does not decide what is reasonable in a specific case.
In their words
Finally something that works! Having a simple workflow that helps our staff have the simple things they need to do their best work has had nothing but benefits for employees and the organisation
